Engineering Rate Estimates

• Residential, Carports, Flyover Rooves, Retaining Walls:

  1. House footings/floor frames (per level) - From $300 to $600. Subject to complexity of soil classification, slope conditions, steps etc.

  2. Suspended Slabs (per level) - From $600 to $1000. Subject to complexity of steps, features, size and geometry. 

  3. House wall and bracing (per level) - From $300 to $600. Subject to complexity of floor and wall geometry and span sizes.

  4. Decks - From $300 to $450. Subject to complexity of geometry, materials and span sizes.

  5. Flyover roof - From $300 to $450. Subject to complexity of geometry, materials and span sizes.

  6. Carports/Sheds - From $450 to $900. Subject to complexity of geometry and span sizes.

  7. Pool Shells - From $300 for standard sized pools on stable ground.

  8. Retaining Walls - From $300 per wall type, subject to changes in wall heights, soil conditions and setout complexity.

• Commercial/ Industrial:

  1. Portal Frame Warehouses, Halls & Sheds - From $3,000 to $8,000, subject to building size and complexity of geometry and load patterns.

  2. Tilt-Up Panel Warehouses, Halls & Sheds - From $4,200 to $12,000, subject to building size and complexity of geometry and load patterns.

  3. Suspended Concrete Slabs (per level) - From $600 to $2,000 per suspended slab, subject to building size, common floors, transfer floors and complexity of geometry and load patterns. Post-Tensioning considerations excluded, typically for floor spans over 8m or major transfer levels with insufficient ceiling heights.

  4. Multiple Level Wall Frames (per level) - From $1,000 to $3,000 per level up to 6 stories, subject to building size, common floors, and complexity of geometry and load patterns. High rise buildings over 6 stories, or 'skinny' buildings (large height to width ratio) would need a detailed project review.

  5. Steel Roof and Space Frames - Simple building frames are typically from $1,000 and up to $8,000 for more exciting projects with complex arrangements with large sizes or spans.

• Civil Aspects: 

  1. Engineering Feasibility Concepts - From $600 to $2,500 for simple sketches of efficient layouts and levels for discussion. Engineering Feasibility Reports including these sketches typically $1800 to $3,500 depending on the complexity.

  2. Bulk Earthworks Plan - From $1,000 to $5,000 per major iteration, subject to the size and complexity.

  3. Erosion and Sediment Control Plan - Generally $500 to $3,000 per major iteration, subject to the size and complexity.

  4. Road Design Plans - From $1,000 to $5,000 per road type, subject to the complexity and extent of details and sections required.

  5. Stormwater Management Plans - From $1,500 to $5,000 per report including plans, subject to the terrain complexity and excluding flood models and studies.

  6. Traffic Management Plans - From $2,000 to $3,500 per report including plans, subject to complexity and location, and excluding SIDRA analysis of major signalised and unsignalised intersections if requiring a Traffic Impact Assessment.
